Switching Plan Issues

There is a problem with switching plans and Tello. Let’s say you are on the 2GB plan, and you wanted to upgrade to the unlimited plan 2 days after paying your bill. You aren’t pro-rated, nor are you given credit for having the bill. Instead, you pay full priee, and your plan’s date changes to where you would pay 30 days after getting the new plan. This is even worse if you were on the unlimited plan, and you need to downgrade to the 2GB plan a few days later. The money you spend on your unlimited plan before downgrading is gone. That simple. No pro-rate, no credit, and while I didn’t try this situation, likely no warning that Tello will be bending you over and you would be reaping the benefits of being jipped out of your money.

So how can Tello solve this problem? Well there are a few things they can do. First is prorate your current plan so you get a credit towards acquiring the new plan. If that is something that Tello does not wish to do, then they can require that you use your current plan until it expires, and switch you to the new plan when it comes time. While I would prefer the first option, I can see where a company doesn’t wish to write the code to define prorated plans, especially with 30 day billing cycles as opposed to monthly billing cycles.
